Design with Industrie 4.0 beschreibt im Verständnis der KaSPro die Nutzung der Daten aus Industrie 4.0 Produktionsprozessen im Produktentwicklungsprozess zur Unterstützung der Entwicklung der nächsten Generation des Produkts oder des Produktionssystems. Die Daten können in unterschiedlichen Entwicklungsaktivitäten wie Profilfindung, Gestaltung und Validierung (beispielsweise Definition von Test-Cases) einfließen und werden hierzu in unterschiedlichen Detailierungsgraden und Umfängen benötigt

In KaSPro's understanding, Design with Industrie 4.0 describes the use of data from Industrie 4.0 production processes in the product development process to support the development of the next generation of the product or production system. The data can flow into various development activities such as profile determination, design and validation (for example, definition of test cases) and are required for this purpose in various degrees of detail and scope
