Wissensbasis bezeichnet die Menge an Domänenwissen und fallspezifischem Wissen, welches innerhalb des Handlungssystems eines bestimmten Produktentste-hungsprozesses bereitsteht. Da Wissen immer personengebunden ist, kann die Wissensbasis durch Erkenntnisgewinn oder aber durch die Integration zusätzlicher Personen (z.B. Kunden oder Fachspezialisten) in das Handlungssystem zielgerichtet erweitert werden295. Sie umfasst darüber hinaus die Daten und Informationsbestän-de, auf welchen individuelles und organisationales Wissen aufbaut.

Knowledge base refers to the amount of domain knowledge and case-specific knowledge that is available within the operational system of a specific product formation process. Because knowledge is always bound to persons, the knowledge base can be purposefully expanded through the gaining of findings or through the integration of additional people (e.g. customers or subject specialist) into the operational system. It encompasses furthermore the data and information assets on which individual and organizational knowledge are built.
