Effectiveness and efficiency play an increasingly important role in both product development and validation. Especially in validation, these two aspects are important because changes in the validation environment, such as adjustments to the test bench or the creation of a new virtual environment, are time-consuming and resource-intensive. To be able to anticipate this adaptation, requirements can be derived from the known validation needs and goals. These requirements can, then be used to start early (further) development of the validation environment.

Goal & Task:

The goal of your work is to derive requirements for the validation environment from validation needs and goals. Your first task is to understand the interactions between goals, needs, and requirements and describe them for validation. With this understanding, you will guide and support student teams in describing validation needs and goals to later derive requirements for the validation environments. Finally, you will work with student teams to analyze whether or not the derived requirements are met. From this analysis you will synthesize factors for planning validation environments.

Profile:

  • You are studying in the field of engineering, economics or mechatronics.

  • You are fascinated by the creation of virtual, physical or hybrid validation environments with VR/AR environments or functional prototypes.

  • You want to lead agile development teams and actively support them in solving a development task

  • You have motivation and initiative to contribute your own ideas and impulses in the development of findings and are not afraid to break new ground
