Remanufacturing Schraube

Description

At the Chair of Power Tool and Machine Elements, we focus our research on the area of data-driven product development. The goal of our research and development activities is to support the design and testing of mechatronic systems through application-oriented methods and solutions. Close to practice, we work with partners from industry on solutions for concrete problems and drive innovations. For implementation, we use both simulative and experimental approaches. In doing so, we make use of IPEK's first-class equipment with numerous test benches, modern measurement technology and simulation tools.

In your research, you will contribute to sustainability in mechanical engineering in the field of remanufacturing. This is the most important process on the way to the circular economy, i.e. the reprocessing or recombination of used products and product parts. Here, the focus of your scientific work lies in the research of data-driven functional modeling of bolted joints under uncertain product conditions. Your focus will be on experimental design, evaluation and model building.

Your tasks

  • Elaboration of data-driven research methods related to bolted joints
  • Design, execution and evaluation of experimental and simulative studies
  • Research and development activities in close cooperation with companies
  • Supporting the teaching activities of the institute
  • Publication and presentation of scientific results at national and international conferences

What you bring with you

You have an above-average university or technical college degree (Dipl.-Ing. or Master) in an engineering course in the field of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or information technology. You have a profound knowledge of the English and German language, both written and spoken, and are characterized by your ability to work in a team as well as by an independent, systematic and committed way of working. In addition, you have a good capacity for abstraction, a high willingness to learn beyond the limits of your technical education. Previous experience in modeling and simulation, mechatronics and development and validation methods is desirable, but not a prerequisite.

What we offer you

We offer you an attractive and modern workplace and access to the excellent equipment of KIT, a diversified and responsible job as well as a wide range of training opportunities, a supplementary pension according to VBL, flexible working time models, a subsidy for the JobTicket (BW), and a casino/cafeteria.

Application

We aim to fill as many positions as possible with employees (m/f/d) and would therefore be particularly pleased to receive applications from women. If suitable, severely disabled persons will be given preferential consideration.

Please send your application by e-mail to Mr. Felix Leitenberger(felix.leitenberger∂kit.edu), who will be happy to provide technical information (Tel. 0721/608-41871).
